On Sunday, Christian suffered his first loss of the wrestling season. He lost twice - to the same guy! Christian ended up taking 4th. He was really bummed. Tim and I were actually glad that it finally happened. He had some "real" competition this time around. Next year he won't qualify for a beginner's tournament so he will be wrestling kids that are better than him. Saturday will be our last tournament for the year. It will be interesting to see if Christian can get his head back together. He is saying he doesn't want to go on Saturday. Please pray for comfort for Christian.
My dad came up this weekend to watch the meet. It stinks that he saw Christian lose but he got a slight feel for how well Christian has been doing. He saw me a "wrestler mom" which has nothing on those "soccer moms". :)
We enjoyed out visit. He has come up several times since my mom passed. I'm glad about that. Now he just needs to get a job. He was downsized last year. He took some "time off" because he has worked hard for the past umpteen years. He didn't take any time off after my BIL was killed or my mom died so it has been good for him. However, he is going to need to find work soon or he is going to start eating into his savings. He is only 59 so he has a while before retirement age. He's not doing ANYTHING so he needs to get busy so he doesn't get bored, lonely or depressed. Please pray for him and his job situation.
